Sewing workshops
Born in Paris, I am a trained costume maker and experienced seamstress with a passion for pattern cutting, tailoring and hand embroidery. I have a curiosity for everything related to fabric, history of fashion and costume.
I previously worked for prestigious fashion houses in Paris, during the 'ready to wear' and haute couture fashion weeks. During this time, I occupied an amazing studio space in an old school in north Paris with my best friend where we worked together for a streetwear brand, some emerging theatre companies, as well as for some fellow artist residents designing, pattern cutting, prototyping, fitting and sewing.
I came to England five years ago to be a junior embroiderer for a haute couture fashion house based in London.
I now find myself in Somerset with a great studio space in BTQ (Bristol Textile Quarter) and the desire to teach everything I have learnt along the way. I see how more and more people are inclined to make their own clothes, and how this feeds into a sustainable approach to fashion that also align with certain political outlooks - something I am completely on board with.
I believe that we cherish and appreciate a garment that we have made much more, because time and effort have been put into it - it encourages originality over conformity and quality over quantity. Clothes are also always more comfortable when tailored to our unique body type.
