Sleeve workshop
understanding sleeve drafting

Sleeves are complicated to draft. Unlike a bodice block that we use as a start of every drafting project, we cannot really have a sleeve block. Each sewing projects requires a different sleeve, whether it is for a dress, a top or a jacket.

In this one day workshop we are gonna draft a sample sleeve toile, step by step.

The workshop will be divided in two sections.

The first four hours will be dedicated to drafting a sleeve from a bodice block, the last two hours will be helping you on your personal sleeve project if you have one/ or discussing sleeve transformation.

Drafting can be long and tedious, but drafting a toile sleeve will allow you to understand what is needed in making a sleeve. Hopefully, that will give you the right tools and notion to be able to draft and add sleeve to your own projects.

This workshop is suitable for sewing intermediates who already have a good understanding of pattern cutting and reading.

It involves a lot of maths and paper tracing!
